
K'naan is one of the most important rappers from Somalia. His real name is Kaynaan Warsame and he lived most of his childhood in Somalia. K'naan taught himself hip hop and rap diction, copying the lyrics and style phonetically. Every song has its own message but the most influential in his music is the political problem and bureaucracy form Somalia. Critics have said K'naan has "a sound that fuses Bob Marley, conscious American hip hop, and brilliant protest poetry. His discography includes three albums, The Dusty Foot Philosopher (2005), The Dusty Foot on the Road (2007), and Troubadour (2009).
